Four Los Angeles men were behind bars Thursday, Aug. 14, on suspicion of being involved in the fatal shooting of a security guard outside a bar in unincorporated Orange County near Stanton, authorities said.
Orange County sheriff’s officials did not immediately offer any details about how the four men were identified and linked to the June 22 shooting outside 99 Bottles & Cocktails, how they located the men or which of them was believed to be the shooter, or shooters.
The suspects, all arrested Wednesday, are:
- David Anthony Ortega, 44,
- Rene Jose Juarez Jr., 37,
- Max Maestas, 54, and

The victim, 48-year-old Salvador Ramirez of Fountain Valley, was working security at the bar in the 8000 block of Katella Avenue and was shot in the head shortly before 1 a.m. At the time, Orange County sheriff’s officials believed the suspect was a male who ran away.

Whether the men knew Ramirez, if they were patrons of the bar and what led up to the shooting were not known.
