California elementary school worker arrested for sending lewd messages to student

A 22-year-old elementary school employee in Ventura County was arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct earlier this week, police said.

Andrew Lemos, a campus supervisor with the Oxnard School District, was arrested on Wednesday following an investigation into the accusations, the Oxnard Police Department stated in a news release.

The Oxnard resident is suspected of inappropriately sending a student lewd messages with the intent to commit sexual assault, police said.

No further details regarding the incident were provided, but police said that they were working to determine if Lemos had inappropriately communicated with other minors at the school.
