Girls flag football: 3 OC teams reach quarterfinals of El Toro tournament

The Orange County girls flag football rankings as of Friday, Sept. 12 and entering the final day of the El Toro tournament on Saturday.

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL

1. Orange Lutheran 16-0 (1): Freshman wide receiver Happy Dubois has 71 receptions for 1,002 yards and 19 TDs. The Lancers play host to Aliso Niguel on Monday night.

2. Newport Harbor 12-0 (2):  The Sailors play Classical Academy of San Diego in the quarterfinals of the El Toro tournament on Saturday. The winner meets either Santa Margarita or Edison in the semifinals. The tournament final is set for 3 p.m.

3. JSerra 13-0 (3): The Lions face Redlands East Valley in the quarterfinals of the El Toro tournament on Saturday. The winner either Torrey Pines or Camarillo in the semifinals.

4. Santa Margarita 14-1 (5): The Eagles fell to defending champion Newport Harbor 14-12 on the opening weekend of the El Toro tournament.

5. Huntington Beach 6-1 (4): Taylor Savage has 81 reception for 707 yards in just seven games.

6. Canyon 12-1 (6): Ella Feldhaus completed 26 of 33 passes for 317 yards and three TDs as the Comanches opened the Crestview League with a 25-14 win against Cypress.

7. Esperanza 10-3 (7): Ellie Frazier helped lead the Aztecs past Crean Lutheran 13-0 in their Crestview League opener.

8. Mater Dei 9-4 (8): The Monarchs and dual threat QB Kendra Hansen play at Northwood on Thursday.

9. Aliso Niguel 7-6 (10): Sophomore Paige Russell threw three TDs as the Wolverines defeated El Toro 33-7 in their South Coast League opener.

10. Woodbridge (10-6): The Warriors beat Northwood and Irvine this week to move to 5-0 in the Pacific Coast.
