Knott’s Berry Farm chefs know better than anyone that how spooky and creepy food looks during Halloween is just as important as how it tastes in a social media world where the camera eats before we ever take our first bloody bite.
Knott’s Scary Farm runs on 28 select nights from Thursday, Sept. 18 through Nov. 1 at the Buena Park theme park.

1) Vampire Bite Red Velvet Cheesecake Cup
Miner’s Mac & Spuds
No-baked red velvet cheesecake with a blood red chocolate ganache on top.
Don’t eat the vampire teeth — but you can wear them.

2) Brownie Stuffed Spider Cookie
Ghost Town Bakery and Coasters Diner
Chocolate chunk cookie dough stuffed with a big chunk of brownie and hand-piped chocolate frosting spider on top.
Don’t be afraid of the spider — even if it looks too good to eat.
“Get in there and bite the head off,” Brubaker said.

3) Graveyard French Toast
Ghost Town Grub
French toast filled with Oreo cream cheese and dusted with Oreo crumbs and gummy worms.

4) Tosti‑Esquite
Papas Mexicana
Mexican street corn, cochita cheese, mayo and butter over salsa verde tortilla chips.
“It’s delish,” Brubaker said. “You can walk around and eat it.”

5) Red Velvet Black Widow Whoopie Pie
Charleston Circle Cafe
Red velvet cake filled with black cream cheese icing and a hand-piped black widow spider on top.

6) Mesmer’s Black Cherry Cookiewich
Chow House Ice Cream
Black cherry-flavored cookies stuffed with ice cream and cherry topping.
“It’s going to be messy,” Brubaker said.

7) Pumpkin Bundt Cake
Charleston Circle Cafe
Pumpkin-flavored Bundt cake covered with cream cheese icing.

8) Graveyard Mousse Cup
Ghost Town Bakery, Grizzly Creek Lodge and Boardwalk BBQ
Chocolate mousse, Oreo mousse, Oreo crumbs and gummy worms topped with a little Milanoo cookie graveyard tombstone.

9) Blood Moon Bat Wings
Boardwalk BBQ
Chicken wings coated with a sticky brown sugar BBQ sauce.
“The black chilies and black pepper make them dark,” Brubaker said.

10) Halloween Cake Pops
Ghost Town Bakery
Crumbled cake with orange or purple candy coating, ghost sprinkles and contrasting icing stripes.
This is more than a lollipop-sized cake pop. It’s about the size of a Good Humor bar on a stick.

11) Crispy Fried Frog Legs
Strictly on a Stick
Frog legs served with French fries and spicy remoulade.
“It’s like chicken,” Brubaker said. “You’ll be shocked.”

12) Halloween Sugar Cookie Bar
Grizzly Creek Lodge
Sugar cookie topped with green icing, googly eyeballs and ghost sprinkles.

13) Exhumed Mushroom & Sausage Pizza
Calico Tater Bites
Pizza with mushrooms, sausage and peppers with a white sauce.
This seems like an ordinary slice of pizza until you take a closer look. The mushrooms have been turned into little skulls.
“We just cut them and then poke holes in every mushroom,” Brubaker said.
