Notorious In-N-Out reopens with new ‘Double-Double’ drive-thru

They’re synonymous with Double-Doubles, sunflower oil-soaked french fries, and thick vanilla shakes… and that snaking long line of drive-thru traffic.

Now, one of the more notoriously traffic-heavy In-N-Out Burger locations – the one in Alhambra at 1210 N. Atlantic Blvd. – has reopened with an entirely new and redesigned traffic flow.

KTLA has reported on this In-N-Out before, which closed months ago. People were often left flowing out of the parking lot and right into the busy intersection of Atlantic and Garfield.

The remodel included plans to “reconfigure the existing drive-thru,” and now we are getting our first look at exactly what that means.

Video from Sky5 shows the parking lot entrance was moved away from the Atlantic and Garfield intersection entirely. You now enter from a side street and immediately get directed into side-by-side drive-thru lines before rejoining as just one lane at the end.

Visitors have still seen long lines during this reopening time, although when Sky5 flew over around lunchtime, the lines were short.

The remodel also included new landscaping, a new trash enclosure and two new palm trees crossed for the legendary In-N-Out ‘X’ marks the spot.

In-N-Out remains family-owned with more than 400 restaurants across the West.
