California driver hands officer Monopoly ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ card

A California driver made a creative attempt to get out of a ticket for a recent traffic violation, police said.

“In a last-ditch effort to get out of a citation, the driver handed over a Monopoly ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ card,” the Fullerton Police Department posted on Tuesday.

After a good laugh, the officer reminded the motorist that while creativity is appreciated, the card was not a legal defense and advised him to “save the card for a rainy day.”

The driver left with “a smile – and a real citation,” police said.

The unusual encounter is just par for the course in the daily life of an officer. “You never know what’s going to happen on a traffic stop…,” the post read.

In July, a motorist with a “next level” dummy was busted by California Highway Patrol officers while driving in the carpool lane in Santa Fe Springs.

Some comments on the California Highway Patrol post likened the mannequin’s appearance to legendary rapper Snoop Dogg.
