A pair of “lethal kinetic strikes” killed half a dozen narco-traffickers in the eastern Pacific Ocean on Sunday, according to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
The strikes, which Hegseth said were authorized by President Trump, targeted two vessels with three men onboard each and were conducted on Sunday.
Both vessels were associated with a known Designated Terrorist Organization, the War Secretary confirmed, but he did not name it.
“These vessels were known by our intelligence to be associated with illicit narcotics smuggling, were carrying narcotics and were transiting along a known narco-trafficking transit route in the eastern Pacific,” Hegseth said on X on Monday morning. “Both strikes were conducted in international waters and three male narco-terrorists were aboard each vessel.”
All six were killed and no U.S. forces were harmed, Hegseth added.
The exact location within the eastern Pacific Ocean was not disclosed.
