Canyon climbed into second place in the Crestview League standings by beating Cypress 66-62 Tuesday in a league game at Canyon High.
The Comanches (14-7, 2-1) have won three consecutive games and are tied with La Habra for second place behind Crean Lutheran.
Noah Kim led Canyon in scoring with 18 points and made four 3-pointers. Pierce Haugen scored 15 points and Mohammad El Baba added 12.
Ryan Gov led Cypress (15-8, 1-2) with 21 points. Gavin Kroll scored 12 points and Ethan Mai had 10.

Crean Lutheran 57, Foothill 45: Crean Lutheran took sole possession of first place in the league standings with a road win over Foothill.
Chadrack Mpoyi led Crean Lutheran (16-6, 3-1) with 19 points and Caden Jones added 12.
Braeden Davidson led Foothill (7-14, 0-3) with 12 points and Marlee Stone added 10.
In nonleague games:
Servite 71, La Habra 65: Jake Schutt had 29 points with 17 rebounds for Servite in a home win over La Habra.
Tariq Johnson scored 22 points for Servite (17-6) and Saigier Smith added 11 with eight assists.
Servite hosts Orange Lutheran in a Trinity League game Friday.
La Habra (16-6) hosts Sonora Thursday in a nonleague game.
Santa Margarita 80, Mayfair 43: Drew Anderson had 28 points with eight rebounds for Santa Margarita in a road win over Mayfair.
Brayden Kyman scored 14 points and made three 3-pointers for Santa Margarita (20-3). Kaiden Bailey had 12 points and Rodney Westmoreland had a team-high seven assists for the Eagles.
Santa Margarita, who is the No. 1 team in the Register’s top 25 poll, will play JSerra on the road in a Trinity League game Friday.
El Dorado 69, Brea Olinda 57: El Dorado scored 27 points in the fourth quarter in a nonleague win.
Jack Boettner paced El Dorado (19-2) with 15 points. Elias Rodarte scored nine of his 13 points in the fourth quarter. Noah Querubin added 11 points.

Villa Park 52, Yorba Linda 47: Villa Park’s defense held Yorba Linda to five points in the fourth quarter in a league win.
Jorden Salem led Villa Park (13-10, 1-2) with 17 points and nine rebounds. Hayden Hakala had 11 points with four steals on defense.
Josh Willerer led Yorba Linda (9-13, 1-2) with 15 points. Jake Waters and Zen Bhayani each added 11 points.
In the San Joaquin League:
Pacifica Christian 75, Capistrano Valley Christian 53: Pacifica Christian won its league opener against Capo Valley Christian on the road.
Donovan Hogan had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for Pacifica Christian (15-4, 1-0). Joaquin Rigdon had 12 points with five assists and Michael Noel added 10 points.
Matthew Ahern led Capo Valley Christian (11-8, 0-1) with 20 points and eight rebounds. Deuce Moore scored 19 points and made six of eight 3-point attempts.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Irvine 57, University 23: Irvine’s defense held University to just two points in the first and third quarters in a blowout win.
Holden Stearns and Chase Brito each had nine points for Irvine (11-10, 2-1).

Valencia 56, Tustin 55: Izan Hsu made the game-winning 3-pointer for Valencia in a thrilling win over Tustin at Valencia High.
Hsu led Valencia (12-11, 2-1) with 24 points.

Western 55, Santiago 47: Western continued its league winning streak with a win over Santiago.
Kalani Tran led Western (7-13, 3-0) with 17 points and had five assists. Shaan Rana had 14 points and Omar Flores had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
In the Academy League:
Tarbut V’Torah 76, Newport CHristian 58: Tarbut V’Torah got its first league win in convincing fashion against Newport Christian.
Ari Varon scored 28 points and made eight 3-pointers for Tarbut V’Torah (7-6, 1-0) and has now scored over 1,000 career points.
Ori Maya scored with 19 points, made five 3-pointers and had 11 rebounds. Eli Feinberg had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Lions made 19 3-pointers as a team.
