Brain-infecting ‘raccoon roundworm’ parasite found in dog in San Fernando Valley

A dog in the San Fernando Valley was found to have Baylisascaris, or raccoon roundworm, eggs in its system during a routine checkup. It is the first formally reported detection in a dog in L.A. County.
