Knott’s Berry Farm will close nine attractions for seasonal refurbishments following the busy Christmas holiday season as the Buena Park theme park resort shifts into one of the rare slow periods on the calendar before the start of the 2026 Peanuts celebration.
GhostRider, Calico River Rapids, Timber Mountain Log Ride, Calico Railroad, Sol Spin, Wheeler Dealer, Carrusel de California, Beagle Express Railroad and Camp Snoopy’s Off Road Rally will temporarily close in January and/or February as part of the standard refurbishment schedule at Knott’s Berry Farm.
The nine new ride closures join Montezooma’s Revenge that continues to undergo major renovations.

The Knott’s Merry Farm winter holiday season ended on Jan. 5 with the 2026 Peanut Celebration kicking off on Jan. 31.
The Camp Snoopy’s Off Road Rally kids ride in the Peanuts themed land will return Saturday, Jan. 24 after a brief seasonal refurbishment.
The 1983 Beagle Express Railroad scenic train ride in Camp Snoopy will be closed for seasonal refurbishment Jan. 26-30.

The 1975 Wheeler Dealer bumper cars in the Boardwalk themed area of the park will be closed for a brief refurbishment Jan. 27-29
The Sol Spin thrill ride in the Fiesta Village themed land will be closed for refurbishment Jan. 26-30. The 2017 Top Scan ride with five rotating gondola arms was built by Dutch ridemaker Mondial.

The Carrusel de California that came to Knott’s in 1955 will be closed for a brief refurbishment Feb. 2-6. The 1896 merry-go-round in Fiesta Village is one of the world’s oldest working Dentzel carousels.
The Calico Railroad that encircles the Boardwalk area and slices through Ghost Town is currently closed for a monthlong refurbishment that stretches through Feb. 5.
The authentic Denver and Rio Grande train that has operated at Knott’s since 1952 boasts the highest crime rate in all of Orange County with the notorious Ghost Town bandits robbing every departure from the Calico Square depot.

The Calico River Rapids in Ghost Town is currently closed for a monthlong refurbishment that extends through Feb. 6. The Intamin river rafting water ride opened at Knott’s in 1988 as Bigfoot Rapids.
The 1998 GhostRider wooden roller coaster in Ghost Town built by Custom Coasters International will be closed for seasonal refurbishment from Feb. 17 through March 6.

The 1969 Timber Mountain Log Ride in Ghost Town built by legendary Knott’s Berry Farm ridemaker Bud Hurlbut will be closed for a seven-week refurbishment from Jan. 26 through March 13.
Montezooma’s Revenge continues to undergo major renovations in Fiesta Village that will transform the historic flywheel launch coaster with a new randomized launch sequence.

Montezooma’s Revenge has sat partially disassembled since 2022 when the park announced plans to reimagine the ride as Montezooma: The Forbidden Fortress. The 1978 Anton Schwarzkopf shuttle loop coaster was granted American Coaster Enthusiasts Landmark status in 2019.
