Notable this week: Orange Lutheran and Servite move into this week’s Top 10. … Orange Lutheran almost beat Mater Dei in the Trinity League, and Servite looked strong in a win over Los Alamitos in the Nike Extravaganza. … Pacifica Christian moves up after beating San Gabriel Academy, a team that beat Fairmont Prep by 19 points. … Sea View League-leading Aliso Niguel rises in the Top 25. … Portola, 6-0 in the Pacific Coast League, joins the county rankings this week.
BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 25
1. Santa Margarita 23-3: The Eagles overwhelmed Servite 102-69 in a Trinity League game. They are in second place in league, behind St. John Bosco, with a 2-1 league record.

2. Crean Lutheran 19-7: The Saints are tied with La Habra for first place in the Crestview League after league wins over Canyon, 60-47, and Cypress, 57-41. They lost to Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas 85-45 in the Nike Extravaganza.

3. JSerra 15-11: The Lions lost to Trinity League-leading St. John Bosco 56-50 last week. They play at Servite and at Mater Dei in league games this week.

4. Corona del Mar 24-1: The Sea Kings, 9-0 in the Sunset League, rolled to wins of 76-54 over Los Alamitos and 69-56 over Marina.

5. Mater Dei 15-10: The Monarchs rallied to wins over Orange Lutheran, 81-79, in the Trinity League and St. Mary’s (Arizona), 76-73, in the Nike Extravaganza. They also lost to Coronado (Nevada) 80-71 on the second day of the Nike Extravaganza. They have home games this week against Santa Margarita and JSerra.

6. Los Alamitos 15-9: It was a rough week for the Griffins, who lost to Corona del Mar, 76-54, in the Sunset League and to Servite, 69-56, in the Nike Extravaganza. They beat Huntington Beach, 64-57, in between.

7. La Habra 20-6: The Highlanders beat Foothill, 67-42, and Cypress, 60-57, in Crestview League games to clinch a playoff berth. They play at Crean Lutheran to decide the league championship Tuesday.

8. Canyon 15-10: The Comanches beat El Modena 80-51 in a nonleague game, lost to Crean Lutheran, 60-47, in a Crestview League game.
