LASD asks for public’s help to find Compton murder suspect

Authorities are searching for a man wanted in connection with a murder last month in Compton, and the public is urged to be on the lookout for him

Darney Harris, 55, is facing potential homicide charges for a killing that happened on May 9 on the 100 block of Poinsettia Avenue.

Harris is described as Black man with brown eyes and a bald head. He’s approximately 5 feet 11 inches and weighs about 250 pounds, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Officials say he’s known to frequent Buena Park and downtown Los Angeles, in addition to Compton.
