Los Angeles Rams rookies bring smiles to Cedars-Sinai patients

Members of the 2025 Los Angeles Rams rookie class visited Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last Friday, brightening the day for patients with cancer and pediatric conditions.

The group of players, including several from the team’s defensive lineup, spent time with cancer patients, signing footballs and hats, taking photos and offering words of encouragement.

Other players visited pediatric patients, including those at the Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s Center, interacting both at the bedside and in the hospital’s garden. One teenage football fan was thrilled to receive a signed ball.

Rams mascot Rampage was also on hand, posing for pictures and lifting the spirits of staff and patients alike.

The rookies also visited babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Maureen Chin, associate director of pediatrics at Cedars, said the visit was noticeably uplifting to many of the hospital’s longer term patients.

“Some of these kids, I haven’t seen smiles on their faces the whole time they’ve been in the hospital until today,” Chin said.

Defensive tackle Bill Norton reflected on the experience, calling it a “cool opportunity” to provide a lift to patients and their loved ones.

“It’s cool to see these families, bring them a little light in their day,” Norton said. “I’m excited to come back whenever we do.”

Linebacker Chris Paul Jr. shared his thoughts on the importance of giving back. “This is something I’ve always been proud of since I was younger. So me being able to do events like this, it takes my mind to a different space, see things from somebody else’s perspective,” he said. “And also it helps me to see how truly blessed I am where I’m at today. So it’s only right that I give back to them,”

Both Norton and Paul Jr. expressed interest in visiting the hospital again in the future.
