Evacuations have been ordered as firefighters battle a brush fire in Laguna Beach.
The Rancho Fire was first reported at about 2:15 p.m. Monday. It was actively burning near Rancho Laguna Road and Morningside Drive, according to Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley.
As of 3 p.m., it was estimated to be 1.5 acres in size.
The City of Laguna Beach and police officials announced that residents on La Mirada Street, Katella Street, Summit Drive, and Baja Street must evacuate. An evacuation warning was issued for the community of Arch Beach Heights.
A temporary evacuation center has been established at the Community and Susi Q Center, located at 380 3rd Street.
