Former Major League Baseball pitcher Daniel Serafini was found guilty of first-degree murder, attempted murder and burglary on Monday in connection with the 2021 shooting of his in-laws at their Lake Tahoe home.
The verdict comes more than four years after the fatal attack that claimed the life of Serafini’s father-in-law, 70-year-old Robert Gary Spohr, and left his mother-in-law, Wendy Wood, critically injured.
Serafini, a journeyman who played for the Minnesota Twins, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies, was arrested in 2023. Read more about the case>>>
