West Covina man arrested, accused of deliberately hitting bicyclist with his car in Fullerton

FULLERTON — A 22-year-old West Covina man suspected of deliberately striking a bicyclist with his car in Fullerton, then fleeing, was arrested Wednesday.

Christian Diaz was booked into the Fullerton City Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.

The Fullerton Police Department received a call at approximately 1:30 p.m. on July 22 regarding a vehicle versus. pedestrian collision in the area of Harbor Boulevard and Orangethorpe Avenue, police said.

The 31-year-old victim was hit by a Dodge Challenger and taken to a hospital, police said. He has since been released.

A video of the collision has been widely shared on social media and used on television newscasts, police said.
