One teenager is dead and two others are in critical condition following a shooting early Saturday morning in Coachella, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station responded to a residence in the 49000 block of Corte Molino around 3:45 a.m. on Aug. 2 after receiving reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.
When they arrived, they found three adolescent males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Deputies administered medical aid at the scene until paramedics arrived. One of the teens died despite lifesaving efforts. The other two victims were transported to local hospitals, where they remain in critical condition.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. As of Saturday afternoon, no arrests have been made, and no suspect information has been released. Authorities say the investigation is active and ongoing.
