You’ve still got time to enjoy a free outdoor movie before the summer’s over! Movies start around 8 pm, and typically pre-show entertainment. Bring a picnic, blankets and low-back chairs. Food trucks may be available.

Laguna Niguel: “The Greatest Showman” (PG, 2017) will screen Friday, Aug. 8 at Laguna Niguel Regional Park, 28241 La Paz Road. The event starts at 6 p.m. and the movie will be shown starting at dusk in the large grassy area adjacent to parking lots C and D. More information: ocparks.com
Playa del Rey: Watch “The Garfield Movie” (PG, 2024) on the beach Friday, Aug. 8 at Dockweiler Youth Center, 12505 Vista Del Mar. The screening is part of Beach Movie Nights, which continue through Aug. 29. The movie begins at 8 p.m. More information: beaches.lacounty.gov/dockweiler-youth-center
Simi Valley: “Inside Out 2” (PG, 2024) will be shown Friday, Aug. 8 at Rancho Madera Park (at Wood Ranch), 556 Lake Park Drive. Pre-movie activities start at 6:30 p.m. with film beginning at dusk. More information: rsrpd.org
Monterey Park: Everybody in the pool as the city’s Dive-In Movie, “Finding Nemo” (G, 2003) will screen for swimmers at George Elder Park Pool, 1950 Wilcox Ave. Recreational swimming starts at 7:30 and the movie starts at sunset. The city will also show “Moana 2” (PG, 2024) on Thursday, Aug. 14 at Barnes Park Field, 350 S. McPherrin Ave. More information: montereypark.ca.gov
Long Beach: The blockbuster “Wicked” (PG, 2024) will screen Monday, Aug. 11 at College Estates Park, 808 Stevely Ave. Acitivites, including movie-themed crafts and a raffle giveaway, begin at 6 p.m.; movie at dusk. “Wicked” will also be shown Wednesday, Aug. 13 at Silverado Park, 1545 W. 31st.
