As Jurupa Valley schools prepared to welcome students back to campus, an “unexpected visitor” welcomed itself to Jurupa Valley High School.
A bull was found on the school lawn Tuesday.
No students were present, as school did not begin until the following day. The staff remained inside as the bull was wrangled, according to a message from the school shared with parents.
The bull was lassoed and contained by sheriff’s deputies, animal control and local handlers.
No one was injured, and neither was the animal.
“While we don’t recommend this kind of drop-off, we’re glad everyone is safe and ready for a successful start to the school year,” the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s station wrote in a Facebook post.
It was not immediately known how the bull wound up at the school.
