Alexander Lee Rogers, 51, is wanted in connection with the Aug. 5 killing of a 64-year-old woman and attempted murder of a 73-year-old man in Longview, Washington, according to the Longview Police Department.
On Monday, a vehicle believed to be the suspect’s was found abandoned on the 23000 block of Calabasas Road in Woodland Hills. Authorities also found surveillance footage from the Calabasas area that they say showed Rogers before he abandoned the vehicle, a partially spray-painted black BMW.
On Tuesday, authorities inundated a Woodland Hills residential neighborhood following a report of a potential sighting. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the activity.

Video from Sky5 showed about a dozen law enforcement vehicles in the area of Mulholland and San Feliciano drives, and one KTLA viewer reported traffic was at a standstill with multiple roads in the area closed to drivers.
Rogers is believed to have been working as a handyman for the couple, and was among several adults possibly living at the Washington property prior to the attack.

In addition to the alleged murder, Rogers has a conviction for a violent machete attack of two people in their home. He was convicted of first-degree assault and spent 20 years in prison, having just been released around 10 months ago.
He is described as a White man standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous, officials say.
