2 dead at Brentwood home owned by actor, filmmaker Rob Reiner

Two people were found dead in a Brentwood home owned by actor, director and producer Rob Reiner on Sunday, Dec. 14.

Crews responded around 3:40 p.m. to the 200 block of Chadbourne Avenue, where they found a 78-year-old man and a woman believed to be about 68 years old dead, said Margaret Stewart, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Information on the cause or causes of death was not immediately available.

Television news coverage showed a large police presence at the home, which is owned by Reiner, according to NBC LA.

The Los Angeles Police Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for information.

Reiner, known for acting in “All in the Family,” later scored hits as a filmmaker with movies such as “This Is Spinal Tap,” “Stand By Me,” “The Princess Bride,” “When Harry Met Sally” and “Misery.” He also directed the military legal thriller “A Few Good Men” in 1992.

In 2023, his “Who Killed JFK” podcast — in collaboration with journalist Soledad O’Brien — was released.
