3 men arrested in jewelry armed robbery in Fullerton

Three Los Angeles County men have been arrested for allegedly snatching high-end jewelry from victims who were walking to their vehicles in Fullerton earlier this year, police said.

The armed robbery occurred on May 10 in the 2700 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue, according to spokeswoman Kristy Wells of the Fullerton Police Department.

“The victims were walking to their vehicles when they were confronted by multiple males who held them at gunpoint and stole various high-end pieces of jewelry,” Wells said. “Officers quickly responded to the location, however, the suspects had already fled the area at a high rate of speed.”

Detectives determined through an extensive investigation that the suspects had followed the victims across multiple cities prior to the crime, she said.

On Wednesday, the ATF Orange County Violent Crimes Task Force, which includes the Fullerton Police Department, served several search warrants and arrested the men, ages 19, 20 and 21. They were from Compton, Whittier and Los Angeles.

“During the execution of several search warrants, investigators recovered evidence related to the robbery, including items stolen from the victims,” Wells said.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call the police department at 714-738-6756, Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-847-6227, or visit p3tips.com/913.
