A man was found shot to death along the Santa Ana riverbed early Friday, July 11, and police were working to identify the shooter.
Officers responded just after midnight north of 17th Street, where they found the unresponsive man with a gunshot wound to the upper body, Sgt. Luis Barragan said.
Video from OnScene TV, a news organization that sometimes works with the Southern California News Group, shows police and paramedics on the walking trail on the east side of the riverbed near a pedestrian bridge close to the River House Apartment Homes.
The victim was not publicly identified pending notification of his relatives.
