Man, woman arrested in Texas on suspicion of involvement in fatal Anaheim attack

A man and woman were brought back to Orange County last week following their arrest in Texas on suspicion of assaulting a man in Anaheim, leading to his death in June, authorities said Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Anaheim police identified 35-year-old Christopher Do of Garden Grove as the man responsible for the death of 65-year-old Tien Luu, Sgt. Matt Sutter said.

Brittany Vidal, 37, was also arrested on suspicion of being an accessory, Sutter said.

Both Do and Vidal were arrested in Houston, Sutter said. Vidal was arrested Sept. 2 and Do was arrested the following day. Both were brought back to California on Sept. 9.

The investigation began on June 15 when Garden Grove police responded to Garden Grove Hospital after Luu was dropped off with injuries consistent with an assault, Sutter said. Anaheim police took over the investigation on June 21 after learning that the attack occurred inside a home in the 1800 block of Bernardy Place in Anaheim.

Luu died of his injuries on June 22, Sutter said.

How Anaheim police identified Do as the suspect and how they tracked Do and Vidal down in Houston was not disclosed by police. A motive for the attack and the types of injuries Luu suffered was also not disclosed.

The relationship, if any, between Do and Luu was not known.
