More than 2,300 Southern California Edison customers lost power after a pickup truck crashed into a power pole in La Habra on Sunday morning, Sept. 14.

Police and fire crews responded around 11:50 a.m. to Whittier Boulevard and Macy Street, where a black pickup truck hit a power pole, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Southern California Edison crews arrived and cut power for 2,374 customers in the area, said Gabriela Ornelas, a spokesperson for the utility.

Crews restored power to most customers in the area, but as of about 6 p.m., nearly 400 remained without power. The utility estimates power will be restored by 5 a.m. Monday, as crews are working with wires that were damaged in the crash.
