Motorcyclist killed, passenger hurt in Huntington Beach crash

A 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash early Wednesday in Huntington Beach and his passenger was fighting for her life in a hospital.

Miguel Angel Penalozagarcia of Santa Ana crashed a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle near pacific Coast Highway and Warner Avenue about 12:15 a.m., according to Corbin Carson of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Penalozagarcia was pronounced dead at the scene, and his 27-year-old passenger from Anaheim was found nearby with life-threatening injuries, Carson said

Penalozagarcia was riding north on Pacific Coast Highway when he hit a guardrail south of Warner Avenue and wiped out, Carson said.

Police suspect another vehicle hit Penalozagarcia following the crash and kept going, Carson added.
