A Santa Ana police officer and a civilian suffered minor injuries in a crash involving two SUVs in Santa Ana Tuesday night, April 29, authorities said.
The crash occurred in the area of First Street and Grand Avenue about 11:45 p.m., Santa Ana spokeswoman Officer Natalie Garcia said.
The officer declined to be taken to a hospital.
Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Nolan McGaughy told OnScene TV, a freelance news organization that sometimes works with the Southern California News Group, that the civilian was taken to a hospital.
The black-and-white police SUV suffered front-end damage, with the other SUV appearing to have damage to the front-passenger side.
What led up to the crash, and whether the officer had lights and siren on at the time of the collision were not yet disclosed.
The collision’s cause was under investigation.
