All westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway at the 15 Freeway in Ontario were shut down after a big rig hit an overpass early Thursday morning, Jan. 15.
The lanes are expected to be closed until around 11 a.m., according to Officer Joe Garcia, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 3:20 a.m.
Traffic is being diverted to southbound and northbound 15, Garcia said.
He didn’t have details yet on the crash.
However, the CHP traffic log mentioned one fatality and at least two vehicles hitting a metal beam that fell on the freeway.
CHP officials have said that they try to reopen lanes as soon as possible, but if there is a death investigation underway that takes priority.
