Disneyland will close 11 attractions for seasonal refurbishments after the busy Christmas holiday season comes to an end and the Anaheim theme park resort shifts into one of the rare slow periods on the calendar before the start of the 2026 Lunar New Year celebration.
Rise of the Resistance, Haunted Mansion, It’s a Small World, Incredicoaster, Grizzly River Run, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, Pixie Hollow and “Fantasmic” will temporarily close in January as part of the standard refurbishment schedule at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Disneyland’s winter holiday season ends on Jan. 7 with a brief respite before DCA’s 2026 Lunar New Year celebration kicks off on Jan. 23.

Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will close for its first scheduled refurbishment since the dark ride debuted in 2020. The most popular ride in Disneyland will close on Jan. 20 with no return date yet announced.
The Haunted Mansion and It’s a Small World will shed their holiday overlays in January. The New Orleans Square dark ride will undergo the transformation back to traditional mode Jan. 12-22 and work on the Fantasyland boat ride will start on Jan. 26. A return date has not yet been announced for Small World — but the changeover typically takes less than two weeks.
The Incredicoaster and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind in DCA’s Pixar Pier will be closed starting Jan. 5 for seasonal refurbishment. The Inside Out aerial carousel will be down for a few weeks through Jan. 22. A return date has not yet been announced for the Incredibles-themed roller coaster.
DCA’s Grizzly River Run will close Jan. 5 for its annual winter refurbishment. A return date has not yet been announced for the river rapids ride.
The nearby Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in the Grizzly Peak themed land will close for refurbishment starting on Jan. 8 with a reopening date yet to be announced.
Traffic on the Rivers of America at Disneyland will be disrupted with the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia out of commission in January. The Mark Twain will be closed for a brief refurbishment Jan. 12-15. The Columbia will close on Jan. 26 with a return date yet to be announced.

The “Fantasmic” nighttime spectacular on Disneyland’s Rivers of America will be dark on Jan. 5-8, Jan. 11-15, Jan. 18-22 and Jan. 25-29.
Pixie Hollow in Fantasyland will be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays in January (Jan. 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29) after the Disneyland character meet-and-greet area was recently closed for a 10-month refurbishment.
The “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” show closed in April and is not expected to return until August, after the 15-month run of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration.
The new “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” that debuted in July will run by itself initially and will then play in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” in Disneyland’s Main Street Opera House.
