Disneyland is expected to start work soon on a new parking structure designed to handle the influx of visitors coming to see the new Avatar themed land, Marvel attractions and Coco boat ride debuting at the Anaheim theme park resort over the next five years.
Disneyland has filed a building permit with the city of Anaheim to demolish an office building to make way for construction of a 3.2 million-square-foot, 8-level parking structure as part of the $1.9 billion DisneylandForward project.

The newly filed permit calls for the demolition of the 70,000-square-foot Team Disney Anaheim East building in Disneyland’s Manchester employee parking lot as part of the Eastern Gateway parking structure project, according to Theme Park IQ.
The building’s utilities will be capped and its foundation will remain after the demolition, according to the permit.

The Team Disney Anaheim East building in the Manchester parking lot serves as a satellite office to the main Team Disney Anaheim building that sits on the northern border of the Disneyland property along the I-5 Freeway.
The new 6,000-space Eastside parking structure and transportation hub would push the existing Disneyland bus drop off/pick up area along Harbor Boulevard to Disneyland’s Manchester employee parking lot.

A pedestrian bridge would connect visitors by foot between the existing Disneyland bus drop off/pick up area on the west side of Harbor Boulevard and Disneyland’s Manchester employee parking lot on the east side of Harbor Boulevard.
Work is scheduled to begin this fall on the multiyear construction project on the east side of the Disneyland theme park resort.

The new garage and bridge are an essential first step as Disneyland plans to build four new attractions at Disney California Adventure over the next five years as part of the DisneylandForward plan.
Two new Marvel rides — Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab — will double the size of Avengers Campus. A Coco boat ride will be added near Pixar Pier. An Avatar themed land based on the “The Way of Water” will take over a portion of the Hollywood Land themed land.
