2 hospitalized after Metro train and SUV collide in West Adams

An SUV collided with a Metro A Line train in Los Angeles’ West Adams neighborhood Friday afternoon, sending two people to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said the crash happened at 12:14 p.m. at Exposition Boulevard and Buckingham Road when the northbound train was hit by a silver Dodge SUV.

The front of the vehicle was pinned beneath the train, leaving its hood crumpled against the pavement.

Video posted on the Citizen app showed multiple fire crews at the scene clearing debris as bystanders gathered nearby.

Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries described as minor and not life-threatening, according to the Fire Department.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
