A search is underway for a gunman who opened fire on several teens in Sun Valley Friday evening.
It happened around 5:40 p.m. near the intersection of Vineland Avenue and Arminta Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police officials confirmed that three ambulances were called to the scene to transport multiple teenage boys to the hospital. The ages of the victims were estimated to be around 16 to 18, and all those wounded were described as conscious and breathing.
LAPD officials said the shooter was an “unknown male” wearing all black clothing. He was last seen fleeing eastbound on Arminta Street toward Vineland. He was believed to be armed with a handgun.
Video posted to the Citizen app showed the scene blocked off by police officers and crime scene tape. An LAPD helicopter could be seen flying over the area.
