A brush fire that broke out overnight in the Lebec area has scorched more than 100 acres and is snarling traffic on the Grapevine Thursday morning.
The incident was first reported on the southbound side of the 5 Freeway near Fort Tejon Road shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
By 4 a.m., the blaze had scorched 133 acres, according to the Kern County Fire Department.
At least one lane was closed to southbound traffic through the Grapevine due to the blaze. Video showed a line of cars backed up through the area as of 4:30 a.m.

Fire officials said the blaze was 5% contained and that a helicopter was en route to help with the firefight.
There was no initial word on what may have caused the fire.
