Crews respond to douse fire threatening homes along Pacific Coast Highway

Dramatic video shows firefighters responding quickly to a brush fire threatening homes along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Orange County Monday.

The fire erupted on a slope above PCH along Camino Capistrano in Dana Point, the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) stated on Facebook.

Video posted by the Fire Department showed large flames aparently burning within feet of several homes.

Crews arrived within minutes of the fire start and could be seen attacking the flames from above and below.

“The quick action and extensive training of our crews, especially in rapidly deploying hoselines in steep terrain, enabled firefighters to knock down the flames before any homes were lost,” the Fire Authority said.

Fire officials said that no injuries were reported.

There was no immediate word on what may have caused the blaze.
