Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani thanks fans, organization in World Series speech

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way phenom Shohei Ohtani was among the team’s star players to address the crowd during Monday’s World Series celebration in Dodger Stadium.

Speaking in English, without the aid of interpreter Will Ireton, Ohtani addressed the crowd of Dodger faithful that traveled to the packed stadium in the middle of a workday to witness the coronation of the back-to-back World Series champions.

The presumptive National League MVP thanked Dodgers fans, his teammates and the organization for their support through the long 2025 season, and offered a glimpse into what the future holds for the team.

Here’s what Shohei Ohtani said during the World Series celebration:

“Hello, hello. I want to say I’m so proud of this team. And I want to say, you guys are the greatest fans in the world, and I’m ready to get another ring.”

The Dodgers celebrated back-to-back World Series championships on Monday, after a nail-biting 7-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Dodgers are the first team to repeat as World Series champions in 25 years, after the New York Yankees won three in a row from 1998 to 2000. The Dodgers will attempt to match that streak in 2026.
