Firefighters are racing to contain a brush fire in southwestern San Bernardino County that broke out Wednesday afternoon.
The Euclid Fire first spotted around 1:45 p.m. along Highway 71 in Chino Hills, according to Cal Fire. As of 3 p.m., it had burned at least 100 acres on both sides of the highway, and smoke was visible from across Jurupa Valley and the Inland Empire.

Officials closed Highway 71 in both directions at Euclid Avenue. There were no immediate reports of evacuations.
Authorities said the fire has the potential to spread quickly to 500 acres.
