Smoke billowed from a brush fire burning in the Hollywood Hills Tuesday evening.
The fire was first reported around 6:40 p.m. on the 2100 block of Sunset Plaza Drive, according to the Pulse Point app.
Multiple units were dispatched to battle the blaze, which was surrounded on nearly all sides by luxury homes.
Video from an ALERT California camera located atop Bel Air Ridge near Beverly Glen Park captured large plumes of black smoke billowing from the fire scene.
According to updates on Watch Duty, the fire was estimated to be about 1 quarter-acre, burning uphill in medium to heavy fuels toward homes. Despite the close proximity to homes, no evacuations have been issued.
Smoke from the webcam appeared to dissipate just after 7 p.m.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
Earlier this year, during historic firestorms in January, the Hollywood Hills was the site of the Sunset Fire, which caused mass evacuations and power outages.
