Police are searching for the driver of a white van seen on surveillance video crashing into a Walk of Fame statue in Hollywood on Monday.
The incident was reported shortly before 6 p.m. on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue when the van was seen driving through a group of statues known as the Four Ladies of Hollywood and then striking another vehicle as it turned the corner.
The statue of pioneering actress Anna May Wong, known as the first Chinese-American movie star, was left damaged by the van.
Although the statue was still standing, a lower portion of it had been sheared off.
The van was gone from the scene when police arrived, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to KTLA. The crash was being investigated as a hit-and-run.
It was unclear if anyone in the other vehicle was injured in the crash.

The Four Ladies of Hollywood sculpture was commissioned in 1993 and also includes statues of Mae West, Dorothy Dandridge and Dolores Del Rio.
KTLA’s Elizabeth Chapman contributed to this report.
