As many as 20 people were injured Wednesday after a bus overturned north of Lancaster.
The crash happened around 11:25 a.m. near the intersection of Sierra Highway and West Avenue C, officials said.
Video from Sky5 showed a Kern Transit bus, which services the greater Bakersfield area and parts of the Antelope Valley, off of the roadway and on its side.
The exact circumstances of the crash are under investigation, but the California Highway Patrol incident log notes that the bus overturned onto its side after it crossed over railroad tracks.
Aerial footage a set of tracks that run parallel to Sierra Highway that would need to be crossed in order turn onto or off of Avenue C.
Multiple ambulances and fire trucks responded to the scene, with traffic control provided by CHP.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, as many as 20 people were injured, including one person in critical condition. The conditions of the additional patients have yet to be determined.
