Whittier police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead late Thursday morning.
It happened just after 11 a.m. near the intersection of Pickering Avenue and Penn Street, the Whittier Police Department said.
Police on scene located a man sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle who had been shot at least once in the chest. Paramedics arrived on scene and declared him deceased.
A suspect has not been located, and Whittier police detectives are still active on the scene searching for the gunman.
