Authorities in the Inland Empire are asking the public for help identifying a suspect following two incidents where wild donkeys were found injured by arrow strikes in Moreno Valley.
“These troubling acts are being taken very seriously,” the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release Tuesday.
The Sheriff’s Department is assisting California Department of Fish and Wildlife officials and the Riverside County Department of Animal Services in efforts to locate any other injured animals so they can receive veterinary care.
Deputies are asking that anyone with information regarding the incidents contact the 24-hour dispatch center at 951-776-1099 or the Riverside County Department of Animal Services at 951-358-7387.

“The safety and welfare of animals in our community is a priority, and we are committed to holding those responsible accountable,” the news release stated.
Officials also reminded the public that harming a donkey or any animal is a criminal offense.
