Woman finds teen recording her in California bathroom: Police

A woman using a restroom in San Bernardino County last week spotted a young man using his cell phone to record her, police said.

The Oct. 15 incident occurred at a business on East Citrus Avenue in Redlands, the Redlands Police Department posted on Facebook. “The victim caught the suspect as he recorded her,” police said.

The suspect, identified only as a 19-year-old from Redlands, was found hiding in the men’s bathroom of the business by the victim’s husband. The husband confronted the suspect after calling police, but the teen managed to flee as officers arrived.

The suspect did not get away, however, as officers caught him after a short foot pursuit.

“During the investigation, the suspect made admissions to police and provided the passcode to his cellphone, where investigators located additional videos of women recorded in other local restrooms,” police said.

The suspect was arrested for invasion of privacy, according to the post.
