The Ebell Club is planning a unique community enrichment project, a 2025 Legacy Box.
All input on what to include in the time capsule is welcome. The 2025 Legacy Box will be set to be opened in 2050.
Anaheim residents of all ages and backgrounds are invited to share. Poetry, photos, and drawings can all be included. Ebell Club members also want to include people’s stories. Anaheim will help residents be prepared for any disaster
Anaheim Fire & Rescue’s Emergency Management Division is holding an eight-hour emergency preparedness training course.
Join the group for a day full of training to prepare you and your family for disasters and emergencies. Topics will include hazard and risk identification, having communication and reunification plans, utility services disruption, using fire extinguishers and more.
To register call 714-765-4048. Training is scheduled for July 12, and will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the North Net Training Center, 2400 E. Orangewood Ave. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Upcoming CPR certification class offered
There is a free CPR certification course being offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 27 in the office of Realtor Meghan Shigo.
Anaheim Colony’s own Greg Gerovac will be conducting the course. Spots are limited, so RSVP by finding the link at Instagram.com/meghanshigo.

Muzeo offers a summer concert series
The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center is offering a free summer concert series, California Jammin’, that you don’t want to miss.
The first night is June 26, featuring Amber Foxx. There are also concerts July 24 and Aug. 28. All are outdoor at the Muzeo and family friendly. Lawn chairs are encouraged and even bring a picnic.
There is also a Muzeo-organized trip to the Getty Center on June 29. The trip includes a bus ride to the Los Angeles museum, a tour of the facility and lunch onsite. Tickets are $64 for general admission. Find out more information and buy tickets at Muzeo.org.
Get involved with historic preservation in Anaheim
There is an opportunity to take an active part in preservation efforts in Anaheim’s historic neighborhoods by joining the community-based Anaheim Historic Preservation Committee.
Applications for membership are being accepted through July 1. New members will be chosen by Oct. 1.
Members advocate for the preservation of historic properties, support the city’s Historic Mills Act Program and more. HPC meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month and are open to the public. Get involved.

Anaheim Sister City Commission is planning visits
The Anaheim Sister City Commission has recently reorganized and is busy with a variety of activities.
The Anaheim student ambassadors are being trained for their trip to Mito, Japan, where they will stay with a Japanese family and receive a real cultural experience.
Also, the Mito ambassadors are arriving in August to spend time in Anaheim. This is a 49-year relationship.
And, there are plans for creating a sister city relationship in Mexico soon. The Anaheim Sister City group is looking for support to fund the hosting of students. For more information, contact Lori Dinwiddie at lori@dinwiddieland.com.
Summer nights at Pearson Park
The Anaheim Summer Series is presenting Pearson Park Summer Nights Under the Stars.
The Disneyland Resort is again sponsoring the summer entertainment series. These are family and cultural shows in the park’s amphitheater.
The series will feature magicians, cultural performances and dance performances, including the Anaheim Ballet. Tickets are $5 and some shows are free.
There are also free concerts on Aug. 2, 9, 16 and 23. Tickets are available online at Anaheim.net/pearsontheatre.
