The Anaheim Summer Series has been presenting the Pearson Park Summer Nights Under the Stars.
The Disneyland Resort is again sponsoring the summer entertainment series at the Pearson Park amphitheater on Harbor Boulevard.
There are free tribute band concerts throughout August, starting with “Anything for Salinas” on Aug. 2.
On Aug. 9 will be Rock With You, the Music of Michael Jackson; on Aug. 16 will be Britain’s Finest; and on Aug. 23 will be No Duh playing the music of No Doubt.
Tickets are available online at Anaheim.net/pearsontheatre. Concerts are in the amphitheatre and begin at 7 p.m.
Miss Anaheim program is looking for participants
The Miss Anaheim Beautiful Scholarship Program 2025-26 taking applications now.
The program is not a typical beauty pageant or a one-time scholarship. It is a year-long commitment to participate in personal growth and development that includes an education scholarship. There is community service, public speaking and more.
The pageant is set for Sept. 7. Reach out to the program at missanaheimbeautiful@gmail.com. The organizers will need the contestant’s first and last name, the school and grade the contestant is attending in the fall, home address including ZIP code, email and cell number. They also want to know where you heard about the program. The application will be emailed to those reaching out for information.

Drizzle art around Anaheim on display
Robert Holton, an Anaheim resident and businessman, has been invited for a solo art exhibit by the city.
The “Anaheim, Sign of the Times, Then and Now” exhibition of Holton’s drizzle art opened earlier this month and will be on display until Aug. 12 at the Downtown Community Center, 250 E Center St.
It is a great show that features pieces with lots of memories of Anaheim spots over the years.
Magnolia Science Academy opens new campus
Magnolia Science Academy is a public charter school in Anaheim and recently hosted three summer open houses for Anaheim families.
The free charter school offers a STEAM-focused curriculum (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) and a project-based learning model that emphasizes critical thinking and creativity. All families in Orange County are welcome to visit the campus.

These boots are made for painting
Anaheim artist Jack Knight is working on a project with the Pacific Symphony that involves painting old boots.
In August, he will be hosting a painting project that requires old paintable boots. If you have old boots to donate, contact Jack at 919-701-7621.

The Historic Preservation Committee meets throughout the year and offers residents an opportunity to learn more about what is being done in Anaheim for historic preservation.

Monthly Founders Park tour coming up
Founders’ Park features the historic Mother Colony House and Woelke-Stoffel House and free tours are offered on the first Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The city park, at 400 N. West St., also offers agricultural history of Anaheim with walkways and trails that lead visitors through recreated 19th century landscapes.

Free mulch and compost available
Compost and mulch are available to local residents through OC Waste & Recycling.
Supplies can be picked up from the Bee Canyon Greenery at the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill in Irvine, the Capistrano Greenery at the Prima Deschecha Landfill in San Juan Capistrano and the Valencia Greenery at Olinda Alpha Landfill in Brea. Make an appointment at OCLandfills.com/compost to pick some up.
Plan to take a shovel and containers that you can fill on your own.
