Anaheim’s Community Services Department is scheduled to host a community open house for District 6 on Feb. 19 at the East Anaheim Community Center. All members of the Anaheim Hills community are invited.
Tonight’s 5 to 7 p.m. meeting is an opportunity to interact with city staff while visiting the various city booths pertaining to projects and city services. This is a chance to get the latest updates on development activity or proposed changes for Anaheim Hills, as well as a chance to have your voice heard regarding any concerns about environmental impacts, fire, safety and traffic.
District 6 City Councilmember Natalie Meeks is set to be in attendance. There are no formal presentations planned, and those interested in attending are encouraged to drop in anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to ask questions and share thoughts.
Play Bingo to help Ebell Club help others
The second annual Bingo fundraiser hosted by the Ebell Club of Canyon Hills is coming up on March 31 and the community is invited to join the fun.
Second Vice President, Ways and Means Jean Rico is organizing the 6 p.m. event at The Hive that will combine exciting Bingo games and prizes with opportunities to purchase tickets for a chance to win one of the exciting gift baskets.
The $25 entry includes 10 bingo cards. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase that evening.
Ticket sales begin at 5:30 p.m., with Bingo starting promptly at 6, so plan to arrive early.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit various community and philanthropic organizations supported by the nonprofit Ebell Club. Some of the most recent organizations include Casa Teresa, Meals on Wheels, Second Harvest Food Bank of OC, Patriotic Service Dog Foundation, San Antonio Catholic Church Family Ministry, Higher Ground Youth and Family Services and Canyon High School Curriculum Enrichment.

All women in the community are invited to a St. Patrick’s-themed celebration hosted by the Anaheim, Orange and Villa Park Women’s Connection on March 9 at the Black Gold Country Club.
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for shopping with local vendors and socializing. Luncheon and program follow at 11:30 a.m., and conclude at 1:30 p.m.
Afternoon entertainment will be provided by Diana Jackson. The program will feature CWC’s Got Talent, showcasing the talents of the Women’s Connection members. Guest speaker Yrena Friedman Niewald will present an inspiring message, “No Greater Love in Jesus.” There are also hostess gifts, door prizes and more.

Canyon Hills Ebell Club celebrates milestone
Members of the Ebell Club of Canyon Hills will celebrate the club’s 42nd birthday and honor past presidents during a March 2 meeting at 10 a.m., in the Fellowship Hall at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church.
Program co-chairs Gayle Cornejo and DeeDee Hotchkiss have a special presentation planned to recognize the club’s past presidents who include founding member and first president Judy Dougal, Linda Bird, Mary Sprague, Beverly Nihei, Shari Cipolla, Bonnie Duckworth, Dee Fisher, Linda Seymour, Becky Rice, Charlyn Barton, Judi Sepulveda, Mary Hovland, Sharon Woodward, Mai Hinwood, Elaine Moulden, Linda Schleiger, Joan Coy, Pam Starr, Linda Lewis, Donna Frize, Claudia Thielmann, Maxine Shaner, Jayne O’Toole, Barbara Landreth, Susan Harker, Sherye Ayres, Jackie Evett, Heather Terjung, Nancy Bertocchini, Patti Faiman, Joy Lais and Barbara Shaia.
The nonprofit Ebell Club was chartered and federated on March 9, 1984, and since that time, members have raised more than $300,000 for numerous philanthropies both within the community and national organizations.
First vice presidents, philanthropy, Heather Terjung and Donna Frize have led several successful philanthropic efforts this past year, including donations of school supplies and participation in the “Warm Hands, Warm Hearts” campaign to purchase jackets and shoes for students in need within the Orange Unified School District. Members also donated gift cards to the servicemen and women stationed at Camp Pendleton during Christmas.
