See ‘Spring Awakening’ revived
A revival of the eight-time Tony Award-winning rock musical “Spring Awakening” makes its regional premier on the Cripe Stage of the Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center at The Chance Theater.
Tickets are available for the production, which opened earlier this month, and runs through Aug. 10.
It’s been more than 20 years since Jacelyn A. Brown, associate artistic director at the Chance, first directed the original “Spring Awakening” at the theater and she returns with a reimaged version through Duncan Sheik’s compelling alt-rock score together with Steven Sater’s lyrical, affecting text. This production, based on Frank Wedekind’s groundbreaking book, features a cast of extraordinary new voices making their Chance debuts in this mature, emotionally charged production.
Tickets are currently available at ChanceTheater.com/springawakening or call the box office at 888-455-4212.
