Children at CHOC and their families get holiday support
This year’s Holiday Basket of Miracles was yet another successful one. More than 400 families with critically ill children were provided fresh produce, dry goods, turkeys and home essentials.
This annual program, sponsored by the Miracles for Kids organization, received support from hundreds of donors, volunteers and corporate partners.
More than 4,000 holiday gifts were purchased, donated and wrapped by volunteers to help brighten the holidays for families caring for children with life-threatening illnesses.
“For families fighting for their child’s life, the holidays can feel overwhelming and isolating,” Autumn Strier, co-founder and CEO of Miracles for Kids, said. “The Holiday Basket of Miracles program is about more than gifts — it’s about restoring hope, dignity and joy during one of the hardest seasons these families face.”
This year also marks the 21st year of serving families in crisis, helping to provide financial aid, housing, essential resources and basic needs to families struggling to care for their critically ill children. The Miracle Manor, located in Orange near the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, provides long-term housing enabling families to reside close during their child’s treatment.
Library event will address mood
