1. Newport Harbor 5-0 (1): The Sailors beat Cathedral Catholic 11-8 on Saturday in their first of two nonleague matches against the Dons. Cathedral Catholic opened its season with a 12-11 win against Oaks Christian.
2. JSerra 2-0 (2): Sophomore Dylan Park has scored 11 goals in two matches to emerge as a player to watch. The Lions survived in overtime to beat La Jolla 18-16 in their opener.
3. Corona del Mar 3-0 (3): The Sea Kings’ week features a match at Oaks Christian on Thursday night and the Santa Barbara tournament on Friday and Saturday.
4. Mater Dei 2-0 (4): Emerging junior goalie Morgan Crichton made 21 saves in an 18-11 win against the visiting The Bishop’s on Saturday.
5. Santa Margarita 2-0 (5): High-scoring senior Evan Wu has netted 14 goals in two matches for the Eagles, who play at Los Alamitos on Wednesday.
6. Beckman 3-0 (7): The Patriots travel to Servite (1-0) on Wednesday as the programs continue their nonleague rivalry.
7. Los Alamitos 1-1 (10): The Griffins rallied from a four-goal deficit in the final three minutes to edge San Juan Hills 15-14. Los Alamitos received a spark off the bench from goalie Nathan Jorge.
8. San Juan Hills 4-3 (6): The Stallions went 3-1 at the Long Beach tournament with wins against Palos Verdes, La Habra and Hoover of Glendale. They lost to Buchanan 17-10
9. Foothill 3-2 (10): The Knights play at San Juan Hills on Thursday in an intriguing match.
10T. Huntington Beach 1-2 (8): The Oilers join Corona del Mar as a county team to watch at the Santa Barbara tournament.
10T. San Clemente (2-0): Senior Palmer MacBeth had seven goals and four drawn exclusions in a 13-10 win against Carlsbad last week.
Also considered: Capistrano Valley (1-0), Crean Lutheran (3-3), Laguna Beach (1-2).
