1. Newport Harbor 25-1 (1): The top-seeded and Sunset League champion Sailors open defense of their CIF-SS Open Division title by playing host to Laguna Beach in Group A on Wednesday.
2. Santa Margarita 24-4 (4): The Trinity League champions earned the No. 2 seed in the Open Division and play host to Long Beach Wilson on Wednesday in Group B.
2. Corona del Mar 22-6 (2): Don’t overlook the Sea Kings in the Open Division. The Sunset League runner-up is seeded third and play host to Mira Costa on Wednesday to open Group B.
4. JSerra 18-10 (3): The No. 5 seeded Lions open Group A in the Open Division at No. 4 Oaks Christian on Wednesday.
5. Mater Dei 13-13 (5): The Monarchs missed the Open Division for the first time but play host to Downey in a Division 1 first round match on Friday. Mater Dei is seeded third in Division 1.
6. Laguna Beach 24-6 (6): The Pacific Coast League champion rides a 14-match winning streak into an Open Division match at Newport Harbor on Wednesday. The Breakers shook off early losses to Mater Dei and San Clemente to set the school record for most wins in a regular season.
7. Huntington Beach 14-14 (7): The Oilers, the third-place finisher from the Sunset League, play No. 5 seeded Buena in a Division 1 first round match Friday at Rio Mesa High. Buena beat No. 12 Huntington Beach 13-10 earlier in the season.
8. Beckman 18-10 (8): The undefeated South Coast League champion plays host to Westlake in a Division 1 first round match Friday at 4 p.m. Beckman is seventh in Division 1 while Westlake in No. 10.
9. San Clemente 14-13 (9): The Tritons, the runner-up in the South Coast, play at No. 4 seed Dos Pueblos in a Division 1 first round match Friday. The teams haven’t played this season.
10T. San Juan Hills 18-8 (10): The Stallions, the third-place finisher in the South Coast League, play host to San Marcos in an intriguing Division 1 first round match on Friday. San Juan Hills in ranked eighth in Division 1, one spot ahead of San Marcos. The teams haven’t played.
10T. Sage Hill 20-5 (not ranked): The Lightning, a narrow runner-up to Laguna Beach in the Pacific Coast League, play No. 6 seed Yucaipa at Crafton Hills College in Division 1 on Friday. Sage Hill reached Division 1 for the first time. The Lightning’s resume includes an 11-9 win against Beckman at the Pal tournament.
