CIF SoCal Regional boys soccer: Three OC teams have first-round home games

Orange County’s CIF Southern Section champion boys soccer teams Los Alamitos, Mater Dei and University have first-round home games for the CIF Southern California Regional.

The CIF SoCal Regional tournament begins Tuesday. CIF SoCal and CIF Northern California Regional champions in five divisions meet in the first CIF State Championships on March 13 and 14 at Natomas High School in Sacramento.

Mater Dei won the CIF-SS Open Division championship. Los Alamitos won the CIF-SS Division 3 championship and University won the Division 4 title. CIF-SS Division 5 champion Santa Ana Valley plays a SoCal Regional first-round away game against CIF San Diego Section Division IV champion La Jolla.

The SoCal Regional continues with the semifinals Thursday and finals on Saturday. All Regional games are played at host-school sites.

First-round and semifinal games are scheduled for 5 p.m., subject to change. Regional finals will be played at either 1 p.m. or 5 p.m.

The first-round schedule for SoCal Regional games for Orange County teams:

Division I: Santa Monica at Mater Dei; JSerra at Del Norte; St. Augustine at Orange Lutheran.

Division II: Canyon at San Pasqual.

Division III: Godinez at Bishop Amat; Los Alamitos at Bonita Vista; Mt. Carmel at Newport Harbor.

Division IV: Animo Leadership at University; Santa Ana Valley at La Jolla; Esperanza at Granite Hills.

Division V: Pacifica Christian at Garfield.
